The FAQ
Do you Travel?
Yes, frequently. I'm based in Colorado for two reasons: it usually has great weather, but it's easy to get out when it's not.
I can and have worked throughout East Asia and the Pacific, in places such as Japan, New Zealand, and Rarotonga, amongst others. If we can get in and out without too much fuss, I'm game, let's go!
How long have you been doing this?
Shooting weddings? Honestly, not long. I've been a professional photographer and videographer since 2014, mainly shooting commercially.
I started in earnest when I was travelling the world in 2006. I helped spark the Iceland trend, though I didn't know it at the time. Most people thought I was nuts to go there ...until they saw my photos.
I've had my images published in both high-end fashion and industry-specific magazines. I've created photo albums for upmarket private schools. But after friends asked me to shoot their weddings, I knew that serving God and others calls to my heart stronger than anything has before.
How many photos do we get?
Great question. But the answer is; it depends.
Firstly, it depends on what products you want to get out of this. We will ALWAYS shoot with the idea of making both wall art and albums from the images. That's the entire point.
However, you'll also receive a digital album, which typically contains 300+ images from the day.
In all packages, you receive the edited images of the day in a digital album (300+), as well as a highlight video.
How do we get our photos?
I shoot for a purpose: photo albums and wall art. Physical products are best collected in-person, though that depends on your location.
Digital images will be put into a Pixieset gallery, which you will have access to. I can also create a web app for you, too. You'd be able to access it from your phone.
Do you retouch photos?
Photo retouching is something that depends on what the images are to be used for. Wall art and photo books both require a careful colour correction and delicate manipulation. Unless you make a special request, I never manipulate the people in the image. Of course, if there's a blemish or smudge I can whisk it away, but I'd rather not change anyone's body shape. That just feels dishonest to me.
Whats your turn around time?
This can be 1 to 3 months. I wish it were shorter, but with the state of the world today, we aren't completely in charge of the supply chain and therefore need to have a buffer. Sorry, this is something we're working on.
How do we book you?
You can hit the contact me page to ask more questions or get to know me more, or if you're ready RIGHT NOW, hit the LET'S DO THIS button in the footer =D
Can you help us with planning?
100% - That would of course fall under the "full service" umbrella, but you can also read some advice in our blog section.
How far out do you book?
Right now, I'm booking couples in for 2026 and 2027. I strongly suggest you book me for 2027.
The more time you give yourself to plan, the better the plans and prices will be.
What should we do for an engagement session?
If you want an engagement shoot, they're essentially the same as a photography-only shoot, but I'll help you with planning and other details. Hit me up through the contact page and describe what you want to do.
What do you believe?
I am an Orthodox Christian, but I gladly serve our Latin brothers and sisters.
I have a healthy relationship with death and a wonder and joy for life.
I pray before each wedding, and dedicate my efforts to God and the couple.
Can I have the raw files?
In a word, never.
Does that sound harsh and unreasonable? Only if you don't actually know what you're asking for. I know I'm not making any friends by drawing this line in the sand, but you have to understand just how unreasonable a request this is.
First off, you're hiring us to document the day and create wall art and photo albums, not to push a button.
You don't want the hassle of dealing with raw files. That's our job.
Let's get back to basics. What are raw files? A raw file is a digital file that the camera produces. This file is interpreted by computer programs and will display a very ugly image in the "raw" format. Professional photographers then take that digital information and craft an image from it.
Regardless of this, just like when a painter or a musician creates something, the final product is what you expect from them, not a blank canvas and a bucket of half-opened paints and brushes. When you buy a music album, do they just give you the tabs or sheet music and expect you to make of it what you will? This is the same as photography.
